About Natalie:
Natalie Asumeng is a Ghanaian-Canadian fine artist based in Oakville, working under the alias of 135 Studio. Her practice centres heavily in the genre of conceptual/ contemporary art. She shoots environmental portraiture, fashion and still life unconventionally. Through the years, Natalie has gravitated toward an interest in the juxtaposition of the human form and the rich colour and organic shape of fresh produce. Comparing the two subjects, Natalie brings in certain elements from each side creating similarity between the two, developing a unity throughout her work. Concept is important in Natalie’s work; everything is structured and has meaning mainly through the element of design of form and colours.
